The book forwards a joyful vision of connecting with nature and our diverse world through seasonal planting, harvesting, cooking and cultural celebration. The tools, practices and reflections inside have been developed by Lorie Hammond, PhD and her community over 50 years of teaching, from nursery school to graduate level. Hammond is the co-founder and director of Peregrine School, a progressive school in Davis, CA.
