MFA Art Practice at the School of Visual Arts invites emerging and mid-career artists working in all disciplines to apply for the Art Practice Artist-in-Residence program. One artist will be selected to be the Artist-in-Residence for the duration of the Art Practice program’s summer semester. The residency period will be June 15 – July 29, 2022. The Artist-in-Residence will receive a studio, access to the facilities, including the Metal Shop, Wood Shop, Digital Sculpture Center, Digital Editing Lab, Fibers Lab, Ceramics Lab and Nature and Technology Lab, and a $5000 stipend. Additionally, the Artist-in-Residence will give a public artist talk. They are expected to engage with the SVA Art Practice community, participate in weekly group critiques, and develop a project with first-year MFA candidates in the program, which will culminate in a public presentation (exhibition, screening, performance, book launch, etc.) during Open Studios at the close of the Summer.
