MFA Art Practice students perform with 2019 A.I.R. Eleanor Kipping
Applications for our Summer Artist-in-Residence program are now open. One artist will be selected to be the Artist-in-Residence for the duration of the Art Practice program’s summer semester. The residency period will be June 12 – July 31, 2020. The Artist-in-Residence will receive a studio, access to the facilities, including the Metal Shop, Wood Shop, Digital Sculpture Center, Digital Editing Lab, Fibers Lab, Ceramics Lab and Nature and Technology Lab, and a $5000 stipend. Additionally, the Artist-in-Residence will give a public artist talk on Tuesday, July 7th (date to be confirmed). They are expected to engage with the SVA Art Practice community, participate in weekly group critiques, and develop a project with first-year MFA candidates in the program, which will culminate in a public presentation (exhibition, screening, performance, book launch, etc.) during Open Studios on July 29th.
