Christine Stiver

Class of 2017

In her teaching as a Baltimore City Arts Educator as well as in her visual and performing arts practice, Christine’s work addresses the tenuous spaces between the audience and the artist. Her mixed-media work conflates the body with products of labor and asks the audience to reposition their relationship to objects of consumption. Christine ventured into dance making in 2012 when she joined Effervescent Collective, and the spring of 2015 she collaboratively choreographed and produced her first full-length work, Dank. She’s also a founding member of Triptych: Movement Image Music. Her sculpture, video and performance work has been exhibited at D:Center, EMP Collective, Baltimore Clayworks, the YNot Lot and Terrault Contemporary, among other venues.
