Giulia Mangoni (AP '19) is showing new work at the Orto Botanico in Rome with the CultRise Community. Opens Saturday, September 15.
Giulia is a Brazilian-Italian artist exploring the threshold between cultures. Her work is based on both autobiographical memories that translate into paintings and external social interactions that take the form of temporary inter-disciplinary projects. She is interested in the idea of the symbol as social memory, and my work sits between materialised talismanic objects, and performative rituals.
